As part of its long-term environmental and public service
commitment, Dominion provides water level, flow and quality information from
the Roanoke Rapids and Gaston hydroelectric stations that are operated by Dominion
Generation. Use the links on this page to view real-time data on water temperature
and dissolved oxygen content, and projected water flow from the Roanoke Rapids
dam, and lake level information for Lake Gaston.
Water temperature and dissolved oxygen levels are important environmental data that can affect aquatic life downstream of the station dam. These parameters are measured in the Roanoke Rapids tailrace 900 feet downstream of the dam. Projected water flow released from the dam and projected lake levels are provided as a service to area residents and those who use the lake and river for recreation.
