| Construction Updates North Arlington Transmission Project |
A few general notes about construction happening in December:
| Dec. 15 | Construction and restoration continue along Kirkwood. This week, crews continue trenching along N. Kirkwood north of Washington Blvd, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Crews are also trenching along the southbound lanes of Kirkwood near 14th Street. At least one travel lane will remain open in both directions, although another route through these areas may be advisable during construction hours. Crews are scheduled to energize the new 230 kV
line between the substation at Nelson Street and the rebuilt substation
at Wilson Boulevard on Thursday, Dec. 18. This marks an important milestone
in the project, and completion of the first phase. Additional work will
be happening at these substations in the spring of 2009. |
| Dec. 22 | Short work week. Monday through Wednesday of this week, the two crews will continue to work toward each other on Kirkwood between Washington Boulevard and 13th Street. One team is working in the grassy median near Washington Blvd, and the other team continues south near 13th Street. The crews will clean up work areas and ensure safe passage along all travel lanes before breaking for the holidays. |
| Dec. 29 | No work this week. Parking in all areas of the project will be available between Dec. 25 and Jan. 4th as our crews enjoy the holidays with their families. |
