Fact Sheet Garrisonville Double-Circuit 230kV Line
Project Scope
Dominion is planning to build a new underground 230 kV double-circuit transmission line from its existing Possum Point to Fredericksburg 230 kV line to a Garrisonville switching substation by late 2009.
The new double-circuit line will tap into an existing north-south transmission line that extends from Possum Point to Fredericksburg and runs parallel to I-95 on the east side. A new transition station will be built within the Dominion right-of-way in Aquia Harbour, where the new double-circuit 230 kV line will begin its 5 mile journey underground to the new Garrisonville switching substation near Mountain View Road.
