It is necessary to extend an approximately 5-mile double-circuit
line from the existing north-south transmission line to the company’s
Ladysmith Generation Site to support construction of additional combustion
turbine units. An
application was filed for construction of those facilities and a Final Order
granting a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity was issued on August 24,
2007.
This proposed transmission line is necessary to connect this
planned generation to our transmission grid and support the continued reliability
of the company’s transmission network.

determining the need, route and environmental impact of transmission lines
in Virginia. The
company filed an SCC Application for Ladysmith CT-Line #251 Junction on February 22, 2008. Interested
parties may comment to the SCC concerning
our plans.
