Directions to Dominion Cove Point Facility from Washington,
D.C.
From Washington Beltway (495), take Route 4 south for approximately
45 miles, through Prince Frederick and past entrance to Calvert Cliffs Nuclear
Power Plant (on left, power station is not visible from the road) 3.6 miles
to Route 497 (Cove Point Road).
Watch for the flashing yellow lights and sign to Cove Point
Park.
Turn left (East) onto Route 497 and travel for approximately
1.5 miles to station (on left). Be careful at the Little Cove Point Road intersection
as traffic may pull out without warning.
Directions to Dominion Cove Point Facility from National
Airport
Exit National Airport following signs to I-395 North.
From I-395 North, take the South Capitol Street exit to
the right (comes up suddenly after the 7th Street Exit). Just after you cross
the bridge over the Anacostia River you will be exiting South Capitol Street
to the left onto the Suitland Parkway.
Follow the Suitland Parkway until it ends at Route 4 (Pennsylvania
Avenue).
Turn right onto Route 4 South. Travel approximately 45
miles through Prince Frederick and past entrance to Calvert Cliffs Nuclear
Power Plant (on left, power station is not visible from the road) 3.6 miles
to Route 497 (Cove Point Road).
Watch for the flashing yellow lights and sign to Cove Point
Park. Turn left (East) onto Route 497 and travel for approximately 1.5 miles
to facility (on left). Be careful at the Little Cove Point Road intersection
as traffic may pull out without warning.
Directions to Dominion Cove Point Facility from Baltimore-Washington
Airport
Check with car rental attendant on how to best get to I-97
South. You can normally go around either side of the airport and get to Dorsey-Friendship
Road, which will take you to I-97.
Follow I-97 South to Route 3 South, which will change into
Route 301 South, until you get to Route 4.
Take Route 4 South through Prince Frederick and past entrance
to Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant (on left, power station is not visible
from the road) 3.6 miles to Route 497 (Cove Point Road).
Watch for the flashing yellow lights and sign to Cove Point
Park. Turn left (East) onto Route 497 and travel for approximately 1.5 miles
to the facility (on left). Be careful at the Little Cove Point Road intersection
as traffic may pull out without warning.
Directions to Dominion Cove Point Facility from Virginia
Get to I-95 North in Virginia.
Take Route 207 off I-95. Follow Route 207 to Route 301
North.
About five miles after crossing the Potomac River, turn
right onto Route 234 South. Travel Route 234 to Route 5 South.
After 3 or 4 miles on Route 5, turn left onto Route 245.
Travel Route 245 to Route 235 South.
At the third light take Route 2 & 4 (left turn) and go
over high bridge into Calvert County.
Follow Route 2 & 4 North for about five miles to Route
497 (Cove Point Road).
Turn right. Facility is approximately 1.5 miles on the
left.
Directions to Dominion Cove Point Facility From Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania or
Wilmington, Delaware
Take I-95 South.
Just south of Wilmington, take Route 896 South to Route
301 South.
Follow Route 301 South across the Bay Bridge to Annapolis.
Take Route 2 South off of Route 301. Stay on Route 2 (becomes
2/4) through Prince Frederick and past entrance to Calvert Cliffs Nuclear
Power Plant (on left, power station is not visible from the road) 3.6 miles
to Route 497 (Cove Point Road).
Watch for the flashing yellow lights and sign to Cove Point
Park.
Turn left (East) onto Route 497 and travel for approximately

Airport
Exit Dulles Airport following signs to Washington Dulles
Access Road. Travel Washington Dulles Access Road to the Washington D.C. beltway,
I-495.
Go south on I-495 which then turns into I-95 East after
crossing the Woodrow Wilson bridge.
Following I-95 East to Route 4 and turn south. Travel approximately
45 miles through Prince Frederick and past entrance to Calvert Cliffs Nuclear
Power Plant (on left, power station is not visible from the road) 3.6 miles
to Route 497 (Cove Point Road).
