Dominion, in partnership with the Commonwealth of Virginia, has installed electric vehicle charging stations at the westbound New Kent Safety Rest Area on Interstate 64. Dominion Virginia Power has announced a series of rate filings with the State Corporation Commission designed to meet customers’ energy needs with new electric infrastructure and conservation programs. If approved by the SCC, the requests would result in 6.9 percent increase in rates, phased in over the next 14 months. It would be the first rate increase in 16 years other than for fuel and a small charge related to construction of a new power station.
