Transfers of Interest

Send transfers to locations provided on the Contact Information (above), based on state and company. Transfers of Interest must be received in writing. Refer to our table of Situations and Required Documents (next topic below) for guidance.

Request Processing

Dominion receives many transfers of interest daily. Transfers are analyzed for appropriate documentation before we can implement the transfer in our system. Due to the high volume of transfers and the time required for title analysis, it generally takes 30 days before our owners receive some kind of confirmation from Dominion.

Definitions

• Royalties — the mineral owner's share of production as reserved in an oil and gas lease, free of production expense.
• Division Order — a directive signed by the royalty owner verifying to the operator or purchaser of a well the decimal interest of production owned by the royalty owner. Also, it provides the owner's address and tax identification number.

Situations and Required Documents

Following are the most commonly encountered situations that result in either a change of ownership or a change to the payee, along with the documents most frequently needed to effect the change. The right column describes the document(s) required to effect the change. There may be some differences in the requirements due to laws in particular states.

Special Notes:

• All changes must be submitted in writing.
• All payees are required to provide a social security or tax identification number or Federal Law requires a 30 percent withholding tax.
• Address changes cannot be handled by telephone requests.
• Retain your check details for future reference.
• Dominion will not provide any type of valuation for an owner's mineral rights.

SITUATION	DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
Address change	Submit change request in writing with your signature.
Name changes:
An individual's name changes due to marriage, divorce, etc.	Copy of marriage certificate, divorce decree reinstating maiden name or other document affecting name change
Company or corporation changes its name	Certificate of Name change including Tax ID
Company or corporation's name changes due to a merger	Certificate of Merger including Tax ID
Sale of An Interest	Conveyance document describing the land being conveyed, filed of record in the county or parish in which the property is located. Provide name, address and Social security number of new owner.
Estate Proceedings:
Owner died with a Will (testate) and probate proceedings are to be conducted in the same state where producing well is located	- Order admitting will to probate - Letters Testamentary naming the executor of estate - Proof that debts and inheritance taxes have been paid - Final Decree of Distribution (if appropriate) - Recorded deed (if appropriate) to beneficiaries
Owner died with a Will (testate) and probate proceedings are to be conducted in a state other than the state in which producing well is located	- Documentation of ancillary probate proceedings in state where well is located - Recorded conveyances (if appropriate)
Owner died without a Will (intestate): (Laws of descent and distribution will apply)	- Copy of death certificate - Heirship affidavits from individuals acquainted with but not related to the deceased; signature of affiant must be notorized. (Forms can be supplied by Dominion)
