Meet Bob Fulton, Dominion’s weatherization specialist.
Bob lives in Clarksburg, West Virginia, in a three-story house that "was
brand new in 1911." He and his wife moved into the house in 1976 and, as
he says, "we’ve been on a ladder ever since."
For a family
of six, the house has provided plenty of room and just as many challenges.
"That was evident when we scraped the wallpaper
off the living room wall to reveal a huge crack that gave us a clear view
of the neighbor’s dining room window," says Fulton.
Bob is currently in the middle of a major weatherization
project on his West Virginia home, from replacing the old hot water boiler
system with two energy efficient gas forced air furnaces to removing pipes
for the gas lights and sealing the cracks and crevices that robbed his
home of energy.
"Even the smallest weatherization improvements to this
great old house have made a noticeable difference in comfort and energy savings,"
said Fulton.
Dominion’s weatherization campaign is designed to reach
customers who don't qualify for energy assistance programs and supply them with
information on making money-saving improvements to their homes.
