Commercial –
The information below provides an overview of Dominion's construction process:
- Create your work request online with eBuilder Services or contact Dominion at 1-888-569-5700 to start the process.
- Dominion will contact you for more specific information and to obtain a copy of the plat.
- Dominion will visit the site to determine electric service needs.
- Metering Requirements – Electrical Requirements (The Blue Book - view the New Services, Temporary Services section and sections 220 and 230, Metering and Meter Location, by selecting the bookmarks from the left side of the Blue Book page).
- Dominion will determine any applicable customer charges and prepare necessary documentation such as Easement Process and Agreements.
- Easement Process and Agreements documentation will need to be signed and payments provided to Dominion.
- The customer is responsible for initiating the electrical inspection from the county or city building inspector's office. The inspector's office will notify Dominion of approval.
- Notify Dominion when all of the items on the Site Ready Checklist are complete and ready for electric service.
- Setting up an Account
- Once requirements have been satisfied and your site is ready, Dominion will provide an approximate timeline that the electric service installation may begin.
Be sure to get your Work Request Number from the Dominion Customer Service Agent so you can track the status of your request. Just go to Dominion’s Web site, www.dom.com, and enter “Work Request Lookup” in the keyword search. Select “Work Request Lookup” from the KeyMatch.
