Service Requirements

After your initial request, Dominion will contact you to get specific information about the work request. The types of information that may be required are listed below and are needed to provide you timely service. Click here for a printer friendly Service Requirements checklist.

Site Plans (disk format when available)

Point of contact information (builder, electrician, other)

• Name
• Mailing address
• Phone number

Meter service will be established in the name(s) of:

• Name
• Service address
• Mailing address (if different than service address)
• Phone number

Load

• Provide a load letter for each meter
• Single or three phase service
• Voltage/amperage of service
• Power riser diagram
• Is there a similar size service elsewhere?

Metering equipment locations (see Information and Requirements for Electric Service - view the New Services, Temporary Services section and sections 220 and 230, Metering and Meter Location, by selecting the bookmarks from the left side of the Blue Book page.)

Special conditions (future site considerations)

Location of private lines (water, sewer - existing and proposed)

Conduit may need to be installed by customer

An Agreement for Electric Service may be required

Requested Completion Date (Electrical inspection must be received in order to set meter)

Do you need temporary service

Other requirements may need to be satisfied prior to service completion. You will be notified of these requirements by your Dominion contact.
