Dominion has long fostered strong and healthy communities
where we do business. And at the heart
of our community involvement is the corporate volunteer
program.
Dominion volunteers set a high standard for service.
They know our long-term success depends on prosperous,
safe and productive communities. That’s one reason they
give back. They also derive personal satisfaction from being
part of a team, solving problems and building bonds with
their fellow citizens.
By lending their collective talent to scores of volunteer
projects each year, Dominion volunteers support their
hometowns in countless ways. Since 2000, for example, Dominion’s annual "Putting
Our Energy to Work for the Environment" project has
helped preserve and protect natural and historic resources,
from Texas to Rhode Island.

Participating employees are given the day off to upgrade
parks and outdoor educational facilities.
From 2000-2006, Dominion volunteers donated 50,000 hours of their time to
this cause at more than 100 locations in 14 states. The
Dominion Foundation has contributed more than $250,000
to purchase supplies used at these project sites.
In addition to corporate volunteer projects, Dominion
gives its salaried employees paid time off each year to participate
in volunteer activities of their choosing.
The company
recognizes that its work force has diverse interests and
encourages employees to participate in any number of
worthwhile community causes.
