Dominion has long fostered strong and healthy communities where we do business. And at the heart
of our community involvement is the corporate volunteer program.

Dominion volunteers set a high standard for service.
They know our long-term success depends on prosperous, safe and productive communities. That’s one reason they give back. They also derive personal satisfaction from being part of a team, solving problems and building bonds with their fellow citizens.

By lending their collective talent to scores of volunteer
projects each year, Dominion volunteers support their
hometowns in countless ways. Since 2000, for example, Dominion’s annual "Putting Our Energy to Work for the Environment" project has helped preserve and protect natural and historic resources, from Texas to Rhode Island.

Participating employees are given the day off to upgrade parks and outdoor educational facilities.

From 2000-2006, Dominion volunteers donated 50,000 hours of their time to this cause at more than 100 locations in 14 states. The Dominion Foundation has contributed more than $250,000 to purchase supplies used at these project sites.

In addition to corporate volunteer projects, Dominion
gives its salaried employees paid time off each year to participate in volunteer activities of their choosing.

The company recognizes that its work force has diverse interests and encourages employees to participate in any number of worthwhile community causes.

Dominion volunteers

More than 500 Dominion employees
participated in the company’s
"Putting Our Energy to Work for the
Environment" projects in 2007.
Volunteers were given the day off to
support 21 community projects in
eight states — a company record.
They planted trees, built ramps and
walkways and refurbished nature
centers, among other things.

In April 2007, some 8,000 third-graders in the greater
Richmond, Va., region received blue spruce seedlings as
part of the company’s "Project Plant It!" This partnership with area schools is designed to teach children the role of trees in the ecosystem and how to care for and identify different species. When mature, the trees will represent the equivalent of 13 acres of new forest land.

Dominion’s EnergyShare fuel assistance program is a highly successful public-private partnership that has
received broad community support for 25 years.

We created it to help our most vulnerable customers pay their winter heating bills.

This flexible energy safety net is available to Dominion’s gas and electric customers in Ohio, Virginia and North Carolina who have exhausted all public sources of help. Since 1982, the program has raised $25 million to assist more than 135,000 households stay warm.

In 2008, EnergyShare assistance will be available year-round to helppay for both heating and cooling needs of qualified customers in Virginia and North Carolina.

A pilot EnergyShare weatherization project in Petersburg, Va., and Arlington County, Va. is upgrading the home energy efficiency of participating seniors living on fixed incomes. By weatherizing their homes, which involves insulating attics, sealing air ducts, and installing weather stripping, Dominion hopes to help trim their energy costs and stretch their dollars a little farther.

Fan Care is another partnership program that Dominion
sponsors to help low-income elderly Virginians keep cool during the summer months. Working with the Virginia Department for the Aging and Wal-Mart, qualified seniors in Dominion’s service area receive a free fan to help beat the heat.

These and other initiatives help nurture our civic partnerships and the organizations that help real people day in and day out. They remind people that Dominion is more than a big business. They reinforce the value we place in being a good neighbor.

We look forward to partnering with community groups to enhance our commitment to service and to find new ways to strengthen volunteerism at Dominion.
