Dominion Will Not Take Legal Action Against New York Power
Authority
Richmond,Va. -- Dominion (NYSE: D) said today that it would
not take legal action against the New York Power Authority because the authority
selected a competing company yesterday to acquire two nuclear stations.
Thos. E. Capps, president and chief executive officer, said:
"We do not now, and never have had, any desire to sue. While
we disagree with the decision and think it was probably goofy, we don't sue
people for goofy decisions."
After last night's meeting, Dominion said it was considering
"all options" when asked if it would consider legal action. A report suggested
the company was specifically considering legal action. "We were misquoted,"
Capps said.
