Dominion Energy Names Retired Navy Chief as Senior Vice President

RICHMOND, Va. – Dominion Energy has named Admiral Jay L. Johnson senior vice president, effective September 18.

Johnson initially will be responsible for designing and implementing a new continuous improvement program. The program will streamline and enhance the operational effectiveness of processes throughout core operations and administrative support services at Dominion Energy, its parent company and other Dominion subsidiaries.

Johnson, 54, served as Chief of Naval Operations and as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1996 until his retirement in July. He served as commander of the U.S. Second Fleet from 1994 to 1996 and as commander of the USS Theodore Roosevelt Battle Group from 1992 to 1994.

Johnson graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1968 and served two combat tours of duty as a naval aviator in Vietnam. He held various squadron and fleet commands and onshore senior administrative assignments throughout his 32-year naval career.

Thos. E. Capps, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Dominion Energy's parent company, Dominion Resources Inc., said:

"We are delighted to strengthen our management team with the addition of Admiral Johnson. As the Navy's senior uniformed officer, Jay was responsible for organizing, training, equipping, preparing and maintaining the readiness of U.S. naval forces worldwide. We're fortunate to bring to our team a senior leader with this high level of administrative and organizational ability. His contribution to our own organizational efficiency will be critical to our growth as America's premier energy company."

Dominion Energy, headquartered in Richmond, Va., is the electric power production and natural gas transportation and storage subsidiary of Dominion Resources Inc. (NYSE: D), the nation's largest fully integrated natural gas and electric power company.
