RICHMOND, Va. - Dominion will underwrite the cost of 45,000

meals that will be served Sunday in areas hardest hit by last week's hurricane.
Also, $35,000 will be given to six local assistance organizations,
and Dominion employees are volunteering with local food pantries, holding food
drives, and arranging for tree removal services for area elderly.

Charles City and New Kent counties)
$10,000

Saturday's donations bring Dominion's total contributions
to Hurricane Isabel relief to $300,000. The company announced Wednesday a $50,000
contribution that the Dominion Foundation made to the Red Cross for use in hurricane
relief in Virginia and North Carolina.
"While we have made great progress in restoring power
following the devastation of Hurricane Isabel, we also recognize that there
still are many people who are in need of basic necessities such as a decent
meal," said Thos. E. Capps, chairman, president and chief executive officer.
"These people are our friends and neighbors, and we want to be there to
support them in their time of need."
Details of the various donations and volunteer projects follow:

Salvation Army, Southside Because there are many elderly residents of Southside Virginia, Dominion
will work with the Petersburg Salvation Army to supplement the Red Cross relief
efforts in Jarrett. The company will underwrite the cost of providing meals
at the Jarrett Fire Station; the Salvation Army has been supplying 300-400 meals
daily and will continue through the weekend.
Area Agencies on Aging: Petersburg, Newport News, Norfolk Crater District Area Agency on Aging, Petersburg
Peninsula Agency on Aging, Newport News
Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia, Norfolk
Bay Agency on Aging, Urbanna
In addition to seniors, these agencies serve families and
children in need. The demand for hot meals following Hurricane Isabel has depleted
their year-end inventory reserve. Dominion will make contributions to three
agencies in critical areas to help replenish the meal supply.
Meals on Wheels, New Kent and Charles City counties Dominion will work with the Richmond-area Meals on Wheels to support meals
and distribution for several days, particularly for the two routes serving Charles
City County and three routes in New Kent County.
Volunteer Projects
Food Pantries, Charles City and New Kent counties The food pantry operated by the Department of Social Services in Charles
City County had been depleted of canned meat products, and the New Kent pantry
has just returned to operation in the wake of the hurricane. Dominion volunteers
replenished the supply at both pantries on Thursday.
Food Drives Dominion employees at five company locations - One James River Plaza and
Tredegar Street in downtown Richmond; the Innsbrook Technical Center in Glen
Allen; and the North Anna and Surry nuclear power stations in Louisa and Surry
counties - are organizing food drives for local agencies.
Crater Area Agency on Aging, Petersburg and Southside After restoration efforts have been completed, Dominion will work with the
Crater Area Agency to arrange a volunteer tree removal project. Many seniors
cannot afford the expense of tree cutting and removal, and most insurance does
not cover the costs.
