RICHMOND, Va. – The board of directors of Dominion (NYSE:
D) has elected President and Chief Operating Officer Thomas F. Farrell II to
serve as a director, effective March 1.
Farrell has held a number of executive-level positions since
joining Dominion in 1995. He most recently served as chief executive officer
of the company’s electric generation business before being named to his
current position, which he has held since January 1, 2004. As president and
chief operating officer, Farrell is responsible for the daily operations at
the natural gas and electric power company. He reports to Thos. E. Capps, Dominion’s
chairman and chief executive officer.
Farrell is a member of the University of Virginia board of
visitors and serves as its vice rector. He also serves on the boards of the
Institute of Nuclear Power Operations and Virginia Commonwealth University’s
School of Engineering.
Farrell received his undergraduate and law degrees from the
University of Virginia.
