Dominion Appoints Thomas E. Hamlin Vice President - Business Planning & Market Analysis
RICHMOND, Va. — Dominion has appointed Thomas E. Hamlin
vice president-Business Planning & Market Analysis, effective March 1.
Before joining Dominion, Hamlin was a senior analyst in the
Equity Research Department at Wachovia Securities, where he was responsible
for coverage of electric and gas utilities and merchant power companies. Hamlin
joined Wheat First Securities in Richmond in 1991 as director-Fixed Income Research.
He moved to the equity side of the business in 1997 when Wheat First was acquired
by First Union Corp., the predecessor company to Wachovia.
Prior to 1991, Hamlin spent 10 years with Duff & Phelps
Inc., an investment research, credit rating, consulting and money management
firm in Chicago, where he was co-head of a 10-member team of analysts covering
the utility industry. He was a frequent consultant to company management and
provided expert witness testimony on financial matters on behalf of utility
companies to numerous state and federal regulatory agencies.
From 1979 to 1981, he worked in the Financial Activities
Department of Dayton Power & Light Co.
A graduate of the University of Akron with a bachelor’s
degree in finance, Hamlin earned his MBA from the University of Cincinnati.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Registered Supervisory
Analyst.
Hamlin is married and has two daughters and lives in Midlothian,
Va.
