Dominion Announces Promotions of Eva Teig Hardy
and James F. Stutts
Richmond, Va. – Dominion
(NYSE: D), one of the nation's largest energy providers, has announced the
following promotions effective Jan. 1:
Eva Teig Hardy has been promoted to executive
vice president-External Affairs & Corporate
Communications. She previously was senior vice president-External Affairs & Corporate
Communications. Hardy will continue to report to President and CEO Thomas
F. Farrell II and is the first woman to achieve the position of executive
vice president at Dominion.
James F. Stutts has been promoted to senior
vice president and general counsel from vice president and general counsel.
He will continue to report to James L. Sanderlin, senior vice president-Law.
Hardy is responsible for state and federal affairs, corporate
communications, advertising, media relations, community affairs, corporate
philanthropy and economic development for Dominion and its subsidiaries throughout
the 22 states where the company has customers or operations.
"Eva is widely
respected inside and outside Dominion for her ability to understand all sides
of important issues and to develop and implement strategies that meet the needs
of Dominion, its customers and its communities," Farrell
said.
Hardy joined Dominion in January 1990. Prior to that, she
spent 17 years in local and state government. She served as Secretary of Health
and Human Resources for Virginia Gov. Gerald L. Baliles.
Stutts is responsible
for all legal services at Dominion and its subsidiaries, including business
unit support, litigation, labor and employment, finance and securities law,
environment, compliance and ethics.
"James has outstanding vision
and judgment," Sanderlin
said. "Along with a deep and broad understanding of legal issues, he
has an excellent grasp of business issues. This is a rare combination and we
are fortunate to have James in this role."
Stutts joined Dominion in 1997.
Prior to that, he was a partner in the Richmond law firm of McGuire, Woods,
Battle & Boothe LLP (now McGuireWoods LLP)
and a partner in the law firm McSweeney, Stutts & Burtch (now McSweeney & Crump).
Before becoming an attorney, Stutts was vice president-Corporate Finance for
Wheat, First Securities.
