New Dominion Facility In Armstrong County, Pa., Available For Summertime Demand
RICHMOND, Va. - Dominion
Energy, a unit of Dominion (NYSE: D), announced Friday that all four units at
the company's new 600-megawatt generation facility in Armstrong County, Pa.,
are in commercial operation.
The Armstrong station cost about $240 million and consists
of four natural gas-fired turbines capable of generating about 150 megawatts
each. Peaking facilities such as these are designed to operate during periods
of peak demand from customers - typically the hottest and coldest days of the
year.
