Dominion Retail Offering Low-Cost Electricity To Massachusetts Residential Customers
RICHMOND, Va. – Dominion
Retail, a subsidiary of Dominion (NYSE: D),
one of the nation’s largest energy producers, is offering lower rates
for many Massachusetts residential customers in the Bay State’s competitive
electricity market.
Dominion Retail is offering electric
generation rates 10
percent lower than current rates to residential customers in NSTAR, National
Grid and Western Massachusetts Electric Company (WMECO) service areas.
Dominion’s
rates will remain in effect through the December 2007 meter read dates for
NSTAR customers and through May 2008 for National Grid and WMECO customers. NSTAR
and WMECO’s basic rates are set through June 2007
and National Grid’s through April 2007.
Under the Electric Restructuring
Act of Massachusetts, residential customers can purchase electricity from a
competitive supplier. Delivery is still
supplied by the local utility and customers pay the local utility delivery
rates. Customers receive only one bill from the utility and still call
the utility for delivery services.
To enroll, customers can return the form
they receive in the mail, enroll online at http://retail.dom.com, or call Dominion
