Dominion Virginia Power Supports Virginia
Energy Plan
RICHMOND, Va. – Dominion Virginia Power, a subsidiary
of Dominion (NYSE: D) and the largest electric utility in Virginia with about
2.3 million customers, released this statement Wednesday in support of the
Virginia Energy Plan:
"Dominion
believes the Virginia Energy Plan offers a comprehensive and balanced approach.
We strongly support the emphasis of the plan and the state’s
electric utility re-regulation legislation on ensuring that Virginia control
its energy future and not rely on outside sources. The plan highlights the
importance of conservation and efficiency when it is cost effective and technologically
feasible. It also recognizes the essential need for substantial investment
in new electric generation and transmission facilities and the role that Virginia’s
electric re-regulation legislation has in implementing the plan."
