Consolidated Natural Gas Company Makes Smooth Transition
to Year 2000
PITTSBURGH -- Consolidated Natural Gas Company
is open for business as usual today with all of its critical financial and natural
gas delivery systems in full operation.
“Our hard work and dedication paid off with a smooth transition
into 2000,” said George A. Davidson, Jr., CNG chairman and chief executive officer.
“We kept our customers supplied, our storage and pipeline systems operating,
our natural gas and oil production flowing and our financial and billing systems
functioning without missing a beat.”
CNG will have spent about $12.5 million on preparations for
the year 2000.
CNG is one of the nation’s largest producers, transporters,
distributors and retail marketers of natural gas. The company’s natural gas
transmission and distribution operations serve customers in Pennsylvania, Ohio,
Virginia, West Virginia, New York and other states in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic
regions. CNG explores for and produces natural gas and oil in the United States
and Canada.
