CNG Transmission offers Free Service
CLARKSBURG, WV -- CNG Transmission Corporation
(CNGT) customers can try a new service that’s free. Title Transfer Tracking
(TTT) started by CNG Transmission on Feb. 1, 2000, is an administrative service
that provides gas buyers and sellers with accounting locations for the nomination
of title transfers on the CNGT system.
“We will offer free TTT at least until Oct. 1, 2000,” said
Vickie Coen, customer analyst, “At that time we will evaluate the service to
determine whether the Company will charge for the service at a rate of 84 cents
per transaction. Coen and Heather McNally, transportation analyst, are coordinating
the service.
TTT offers several advantages. “Customers will be able to
aggregate or disaggregate gas at certain receipt points on the CNG system and
trade with other customers,” stated McNally. “This will provide more liquidity
on the CNG system, and gas can be traded several times before going to market.”
Other advantages of TTT are:
- Protection of each customer’s identity,
- Potential for more aggregation on the CNGT system,
- Ability for gas to be primary, secondary or interruptible,
depending on the entitlements of the transportation contract delivering the
gas to the pool,
- Availability of parking and loaning services,
- CNGT-provided accounting for activity within the pool,
Written confirmation through reports,
- More customer control of gas with the ability to enter
own nominations into E-Script,
- Ability to check intra-days approval on the nomination
screens,
- No minimum monthly bill for TTT.
TTT is available at two points — CNG South Point (CNGSP)
for receipts upstream of CNG’s Valley Gate Junction and CNG North Point (CNGNP)
for receipts downstream of Valley Gate. Customers can nominate gas from various
receipt points to CNGSP or CNGNP for aggregation. Once the gas reaches one of
these points, customers can exchange title to the gas as often as they want.
The gas then may be transported to market.
“We have posted a list of customers on our Electronic Bulletin
Board,” Coen said. “This will allow potential users of this service to see who
possible trading partners are.”
With TTT, customers can receive gas at any receipt point
on the CNGT system. The customer must use a transportation contract to deliver
the gas to the TTT pool. Gas received south of Valley Gate Junction must be
delivered to CNGSP, and gas delivered north of Valley Gate can be delivered
to CNGNP or CNGSP. Once the gas is received at a specific TTT pool (CNGSP or
CNGNP), it may be traded at that pool, or transported to the opposite pool for
trading.
“This is really a great service for our customers, since
they can make a profit trading gas,” Coen said. “Customers interested in more
information on this service, including the rules and more detail about how it
works, can contact me at 304-623-8861 or Heather at 304-623-8508. We’ll be happy
to discuss this with them.”
