Dominion Transmission Announces Open Season to Leidy
CLARKSBURG, WV -- Dominion Transmission, Inc., will conduct
an open season for up to 300 thousand dekatherms per day (MDt/d) of firm transportation
that will allow shippers to move Canadian and Midwest natural gas supplies across
Dominion’s hub-like system for delivery to major markets in the Northeast. The
firm transportation will be available from four pipeline interconnects as well
as Dominion’s North Point, and will go to interconnects with the Texas Eastern
and Transco pipelines at Leidy in north central Pennsylvania.
The interconnects are with Empire at Lysander in New York,
Iroquois at Canajoharie in New York, and Tennessee at Ellisburg and Sabinsville
in Pennsylvania. The final facilities and capacity for the expansion will be
determined by the results of the open season. Dominion is strategically located
in the heart of the Northeast market and operates the largest underground storage
system in the United States.
The open season began at 8 a.m. EDT, September 20, 2000,
and will conclude at 5 p.m. EDT, October 27, 2000. Dominion anticipates that
150 MDt/d of service could be available as early as November 2001, with the
remaining 150 MDT/d available by November 2002. Rates for the transportation
from Dominion’s northern points will be determined at the end of the open season.
Information is available from Joe Kienle, director, business development, at
(804) 819 -2114, and is on Dominion’s electronic bulletin board. It will be
posted on Dominion’s website at www.dom.com in the near future.
