Dominion Peoples Files For October Rate Decrease
PITTSBURGH – Dominion Peoples plans to file a rate
change request on April 1, 2001 with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
(PUC). Dominion Peoples indicated in a preliminary filing with the PUC today
that the company is seeking a decrease of 3.5 percent.
If approved by the PUC, the new rates will go into effect
October 1, 2001. The preliminary rates could be adjusted before October 1, if
market prices for natural gas change.
The filing is an annual gas cost recovery request and does
not affect profits for Dominion Peoples. Under PUC regulations, all gas utilities
in Pennsylvania file annually for such a request. If approved by the PUC, the
average residential customer using 109 MCF per year, would see a decrease of
approximately $4 per month.
