Dominion Offers $60,000 In Community
Impact Awards
PITTSBURGH – In its fourth annual Community Impact Awards
competition, Dominion is seeking local projects that have promoted the economic
or social revitalization of communities. A total of $60,000 in grants provided
from the Dominion Foundation will be awarded.
The awards will recognize non-profit organizations that have
made a major contribution to the economic or social revitalizations of communities
within the Dominion service area and where Dominion has significant facilities
or business interests. The entry deadline is Wednesday, November 10,
2004.
The Guidelines:
Projects must have been completed between August 2003 and
July 2004.
Project must have made a major contribution to the economic
or social revitalization of the community.
Projects must be located within Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver,
Blair, Butler, Cambria, Clarion, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer,
Somerset, Venango, Washington, Westmoreland and other counties in Pennsylvania
where Dominion has business interests.
Submit a brief description/history of your community or
organization.
Describe the project your community or organization completed
to promote economic and/or social revitalization. You may include support
materials such as photos, press clippings and literature that represent the
project.
Describe to what extent the project generated positive
change and growth within its targeted area.
Estimate how many people were impacted/served by the project.
Explain how the project will encourage and promote future
development.
In terms of jobs, spending, taxes, etc., explain what effect
the project will have on the community.
On the summary, include a contact name, title, phone number,

Funding for the awards comes from the Dominion
Foundation, which is dedicated to the economic, physical and social health
of the communities served by Dominion companies.
