Upon approval, Prairie Fork Wind Farm will consist of 150 to 200 turbines spread across approximately 25,000 acres in Christian and Montgomery counties, Ill. This project is expected to generate 300 megawatts of electricity, enough energy to power tens of thousands of homes. In addition to creating a viable source of renewable green energy, Prairie Fork Wind Farm would bring construction and permanent jobs, stable residual income for participating property owners and a significant source of tax revenue to the community. Dominion, one of the nation’s leading energy companies and owner of the Kincaid Power Station in Kincaid, is the developer of the project. Since 1998, Dominion has been a partner in this community—creating jobs, helping to grow the economy, contributing to the community and generating electricity. Prairie Fork Wind Farm would supplement the power generation capacity of Kincaid Power Station to meet growing energy demands into the future. Dominion is committed to ensuring that consumers have the energy they need for the future—to keep the economy strong, businesses growing and communities vibrant. |
Renewable energy sources will play an increasingly important role in meeting that need. Wind is one of the most abundant natural, renewable resources available. Wind creates emissions-free energy. And it is compatible with Central Illinois’ agricultural community. Call us at 888-239-3254 or send an e-mail for more information on Prairie Fork Wind Farm. |
