Used correctly, your EnviroSept Air Cleaner will help protect
your family from allergy causing pollens, fine dust, tobacco and cooking smoke,
airborne plant spores, bacteria, and some viruses. Many people also report a
noticeable reduction in household odors related to cooking, pets, and tobacco
smoke.
Installation
If your heating or cooling system uses a single one-inch thick throwaway cardboard
and glass fiber filter, simply slide the EnviroSept Air Cleaner into the old
filter slot. Plug the 24-volt AC adapter into a nearby 110 volt standard electrical
outlet. If it is necessary to pass the cord through a slot cut in or around
the access door, electrical tape should be wrapped around the cord at the point
of entry as protection. Once the air cleaner is mechanically installed, and
the hook-up wire is connected to a power source, plug the power cord into the
jack on the air cleaner, and observe that the light on the air cleaner comes
on.
Monthly Maintenance
Inspect your unit monthly to see
whether if it's time to replace the collector pads. To check it, hold it
up to a strong light. You will notice a visible rectangular frame sandwiched
in the center of the air cleaner. If you see dirt embedded in the collector
pads, it's time to replace them. The collector pads will normally have to be
replaced every month or so.
Replacing the Disposable Collector Pad
1. Disconnect the power cord, remove the air cleaner from your heating/cooling
system and take it outside.
2. Undo the two clips holding the air cleaner together and open it like a book
on a flat surface, removing the center screen.
3. Remove the two dirty collector pads and discard.
4. Brush any heavy dust accumulation from the outside screens with a soft cloth.
5. Insert two clean collector pads, making sure that they are well centered
in the frame.
6. Replace the center screen, close the air cleaner and reposition the two clips.
7. Check that the two pads did not shift as you closed the air cleaner leaving
gaps between the media pads and the edge of the air cleaner frame.
8. Replace the air cleaner in your heating/cooling system, reconnect the power
cord, and check that the light is "ON".
General Notes:
When handling the air cleaner, hold it by the frame to prevent from denting
the outside screens, which may cause the air cleaner to arc (spark). If this
should happen, open the unit as if you were changing the pads and gently press
the screen outward all around the inside of the frame. Then follow the procedure
for replacing collector pads.
If the light is not "ON" when the air cleaner is connected, something
is wrong and the air cleaner is not working. Check your connections and power
source.
Because of extremes in temperature and humidity, the air cleaner may arc
(spark) when first installed in your system. This is a normal transient situation
caused by condensation trapped inside the air cleaner pads. This situation
presents no danger and will quickly correct itself after the system fan has
been on for a few minutes and the airflow dries the pads.
Do not attempt to clean the air cleaner by washing or immersing in water. If
you wish to clean the air cleaner, you may gently wipe it with a soft cloth,
which has been lightly sprayed with a household product such as 409 or Fantastic.
Use only genuine EnviroSept replacement collector pads. You
can buy these from us at any time. These collector pads are made from
a custom PolyWool blend of proprietary fibers that does not contain latex
or adhesives as other similar looking products. Thus, substitute products
may drastically reduce the performance and efficiency of the air cleaner.
Further, this may lead to damage within the electronics and void the warranty.
The EnviroSept Air Cleaner uses less than 2 watts of power, therefore, can
be left permanently connected.
