Thousands of Dominion Virginia Power employees and contractors have worked around the clock to restore electric service to customers whose electricity was interrupted by the record-breaking winter storm.
As of 7:00 a.m., 3,800 customers remained without service out of 287,000 who lost power. Most of the outages occurred in the Northern Virginia and Charlottesville areas. Crews are continuing to restore power today, particularly in Northern Virginia and Charlottesville/Orange.
The remaining customers are expected to be back in service by Tuesday night. Exceptions are in isolated locations where safe access is extremely difficult.
With a strong workforce already in place, the company is well prepared for another round of wintery weather expected to move through Virginia on Tuesday and Wednesday.
