Western Pennsylvania Environmental Awards Partnership

Dominion and the Pennsylvania Environmental Council partnered in 2003 to establish the Western Pennsylvania Environmental Awards Program. Community groups, schools, volunteers, government officials and non-profits who have demonstrated a commitment to environmental excellence, leadership and accomplishment in their respective fields are eligible to participate. In 2005, five awards were presented in the areas of community involvement, government, green design and education.

The Western Pennsylvania Environmental Awards were established to encourage the community to adopt the standards set by successful nominees, thereby promoting innovative environmental efforts and enhancing the quality of life in western Pennsylvania.

Donations of $1,000 were made on behalf of each winner to a local non-profit of their choice.
