24-Hour Emergency Service

Call any time--day or night. We consider it an emergency when you smell a gas odor or when none of your gas appliances are working. Call the number on your bill, the phone number in your local directory, or the emergency number: 1-877-542-2630.

The Gatekeeper Program

Our employees take the time to notice when someone needs help. When we notice changes such as a well-groomed yard suddenly neglected or newspapers piling up on the porch, we'll notify a local referral agency. The agency investigates the situation and gets the proper help.


Up to $850 worth of weatherization materials may be provided for eligible customers. For more information, call the Cleveland Housing Network at (216)574-7100.

Gas Meter Inspection

We change meters to prevent problems. When our meters reach a certain age (depending on the model), we replace them at no charge.

Random Meter Changes

We do random changes to find out if a particular model of meter is working as expected. We don't charge you for these changes.

Other Customer Services

The Customer Service people who visit your home or office are available to assist you from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday - Friday. Services free of charge include:

  • Adding odorant to gas. Dominion East Ohio adds a special odorant to give natural gas a distinctive smell. With this special odor, gas leaks are easy to detect.
  • Gas leak detection. Leaks can happen in our main lines, your service line or house line. If you suspect a leak, no matter what the source, call us immediately--day or night. We also patrol over 18,000 miles of our underground pipelines, looking for leaks. If a leak is found, our representatives will show you proof, but it's your responsibility to have it repaired or replaced if it's on your property.
