About the Lighting Rewards Program

Can a customer use any contractor or only a participating contractor?

The Dominion North Carolina Power's Lighting Rewards program requires the work be completed by a licensed contractor who registered with our network prior to completing the installation.  If your business has a licensed contractor on staff, self-installations are also eligible subject to an inspection of the completed work.

Dominion has built a contractor network for a customer to identify potential contractors to complete the installation of a new lighting upgrade.

All installations rebated by Dominion are subject to on-site inspection.  All applications over $10,000 in rebate value or self-installed will be inspected.

How long will it take to get my rebate check?

All rebates must be submitted within 90 days of installation.  Once we receive your completed Rebate Application, it will take up to 45 days to process your rebate check.  Jobs must be installed and inspected according to the program terms and conditions listed on the rebate application before rebate payments are approved.

Does the rebate go to the lighting contractor or the customer?

The rebate will be sent to either the customer or the contractor, as indicated on the rebate application.

When can I submit my rebate?

Applications must be received within 90 days of the completion of the work.  Installations must be installed on or after January 1, 2014 to be eligible for a rebate.

Can a customer complete the rebate application online?

Only an approved contractor can complete an application.  Customers may print the rebate application and submit the signed form along with all necessary invoices to:

Can rebates be reserved?

Yes, Dominion encourages customers to reserve rebate funds early in their project planning process.  Customers will need to provide information about their projects to Dominion’s implementation contractor.

Participation

How much will I receive for participating?

Either the customer or the contractor will receive a rebate depending on the efficiency rating of the system.

How much does it cost?

New unit pricing will vary depending on the contractor.  Dominion has built a contractor network for a customer to identify potential contractors to complete the installation of a new unit.

Will my installation be verified?

All installations rebated by Dominion are subject to on-site inspection.  All applications over $10,000 in rebate value or self-installed will be inspected.

Do I still qualify for the rebate if I buy my electric energy from a supplier other than Dominion?

In order to qualify, the customer must be a Dominion North Carolina Power business customer with an active account and be paying Rider C.  The offer is open to all Dominion business electric customers regardless of their gas supplier. 

Can I participate in this program and then choose to opt out after?
