Slide Show: Dominion Crews Respond to Hurricane Sandy

The video below captures some of the experiences of Dominion crews in Virginia, North Carolina, New York and New Jersey during Hurricane Sandy restoration, 10/28 - 11/10/12.

Dominion Sends Crews Northeast, Hurricane Sandy, November 2, 2012

Dominion sent crews to assist in New York and New Jersey immediately after completing Hurricane Sandy restoration in Virginia. Skilled workers include linemen, tree trimmers, storm damage patrollers and underground cable workers. The company also sent its Mobile Command Center, bucket trucks and supporting vehicles.

Dominion bucket trucks line up to help. Mobile housing, showers, and a dining tent sustains the nearly 300 Dominion employees stationed at this location.

Snow Storm - January 26, 2011

Restoration efforts of Dominion Virginia Power crews and contractors in Northern Virginia in the wake of a significant snow storm on Jan. 26, 2011, that affected approximately 192,000 customers. Many outages were caused by heavy, sticky snow that brought tree limbs and trees into contact with electrical lines. Below are photos from the event — click on any image for a larger version.

Severe Thunderstorms - October 27, 2010

Hurricane Earl - September 3, 2010

Dominion restored electric service to all customers who were affected by Hurricane Earl on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010. In all, nearly 10,000 customers lost service as a result of the storm. Below are photos from the event.
